Sixteen years
at CDP

I joined CDP in 2008 and built and led its Supply Chain programme. The idea was straightforward: what a company asks of its suppliers can change what happens far beyond its own operations.

With colleagues, buyers and suppliers, we made environmental disclosure part of the purchasing relationship. The work grew to encompass climate, water, forests and supplier finance. From 2017 to 2024, I led CDP’s global commercial business, leaving as Chief Commercial & Partnerships Officer.

At EcoVadis, I bring that experience to the next set of questions: how businesses cut emissions, prepare for climate impacts and help their suppliers do the same.

My wider work has included public procurement in the US, UK and Japan, the NZDPU Technical Advisory Board and AI for the Planet.

My wider experience includes advisory work with CO2 AI.

Biography & media notes

Helping shape
how business responds

Programmes need common ground. Alongside my work with companies, I have contributed to the standards and shared approaches that help them act together.

GHG Protocol

Advisory work & Scope 3 standard reviews

I am an adviser to the GHG Protocol and have contributed to reviews of the Scope 3 standard. My earlier work with its Scope 3 group focused on encouraging adoption.

Science Based Targets initiative

Involved from the early days

I was involved in SBTi from its early days at CDP, connecting science-based targets with supplier engagement. My published work with BT shows how that connection could work in a company’s supply chain.

Pathfinder & PACT

The early work on product carbon data

I contributed to the early Pathfinder work that became PACT, helping improve how businesses exchange product carbon information.

Sustainable Agriculture Initiative

Working across food and agriculture

My involvement in the Sustainable Agriculture Initiative sits alongside my work on climate, water and forests in supply chains.

Climate leadership at EcoVadis

EcoVadis appointed me Climate Ambassador in April 2025. I am now SVP Climate and Climate Ambassador, working with colleagues and partners on supply-chain decarbonisation and reliable supplier carbon data.

Quentin Fornezzo and I coauthored the 2026 technical whitepaper Beyond Disclosure: Building Trust in Supplier GHG Data. It explains EcoVadis Carbon Data Reliability Levels and helps buyers assess the evidence behind supplier emissions information.

My public work on the Carbon Data Network connects supplier information with the systems businesses use for carbon accounting and decisions. The purpose of the technology, including AI, is to help companies understand their suppliers, direct their effort and assess progress.

Commercial leadership, partnerships and standards

From 2017 to 2024, I led CDP’s global commercial business: company services, Supply Chain and strategic partnerships. As Global Director of Corporations and Supply Chains, my remit included Reporter Services, corporate partners and CDP’s role in We Mean Business’s Commit to Action campaigns. I later became Chief Commercial and Partnerships Officer.

EcoVadis’s 2025 appointment announcement describes a Supply Chain programme reaching more than 340 major buyers and 20,000 suppliers. That scale reflects years of work by colleagues, buyers and suppliers.

The 2018 CDP Supply Chain report, Closing the Gap, credited McKinsey’s analysis of supplier climate, water and forest disclosures across eight countries. I signed the acknowledgements as Global Director, Corporations & Supply Chains.

The wider remit included accredited solutions providers and efforts to make reporting more consistent. I also worked with the GHG Protocol Scope 3 group to encourage adoption of the standard.

Sustainable finance became a substantial part of my work. I advanced CDP’s early low-carbon lending proposition and helped build its collaboration with Walmart and HSBC. Our team’s later work with Vodafone and Citi linked environmental performance to preferential supplier financing.

My institutional contributions included the NZDPU Technical Advisory Board, documented in 2023, and Scope 3 Impact Delta’s Advisory Council. COP discussions, a World Bank roundtable and UN-agency forums brought that corporate perspective into debates about finance, standards and policy.

At the OECD’s 2023 Global Forum on Agriculture, I argued that procurement should carry climate expectations through supply chains. Companies need data they can act on; smaller suppliers need useful feedback. I also called for harmonised standards to reduce duplication.

Broadening environmental responsibility

Our supply-chain work grew to include water and forests. With CDP’s Cate Lamb, I coauthored a World Water Week 2014 conference abstract on water stewardship, linking supplier information, purchasing and business resilience.

With colleagues, I developed CDP’s Supplier Engagement Rating. Announced in 2016, with its first leaderboard in 2017, it recognised how well buyers engaged their suppliers on climate action.

We also worked with McKinsey on supplier action tools and research. The 2016 and 2017 reports document the collaboration, and my programme acknowledgements credit McKinsey’s contributors.

Science-based targets were part of that conversation. In 2017, BT’s Gabrielle Ginér and I discussed how regular CDP disclosure supported the company’s supply-chain target.

Building a programme around purchasing power

I joined CDP in 2008 and built and led its Supply Chain programme. We gave major buyers a shared way to ask suppliers for environmental information, bringing climate performance into the customer relationship.

In 2013, I launched Action Exchange to help participating suppliers identify opportunities to reduce emissions. It gave disclosure a next step.

From supplier action
to global institutions

My work has brought me into supplier-finance collaborations with major buyers and banks, the NZDPU Technical Advisory Board, and UN and international climate discussions.

I am also an adviser to the GHG Protocol and contributed to the early work of SBTi and Pathfinder, now PACT.
